Service Technician

Network Computing Group (NCG), Incorporated, an IT Consulting Company providing Managed Services in the Roanoke area, is currently looking to hire a well-rounded Service Technician.

Title: Service Technician
Level: Full-Time
Type: Hourly

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associate’s/Technical Degree and/or 1 year IT experience
  • 1 Technical Certification (or within 90 days)
  • Eligible to work in the US
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Report to: Service Manager
Department: Service Department

Responsibilities:

  • Primary
    • Perform level 1 technical support for NCG clients.
    • Diligently track and log all service time provided for NCG clients.
    • Document in detail all changes and configurations made to client’s network.
    • Answer incoming support calls and emails to NCG from clients.
    • Log all non-billable time spent on employee timesheet.
    • Provide clients with recommendations on upgrades to improve business processes.
    • Place follow up calls to clients regarding alarms that may have been triggered by monitoring system.
  • Secondary
    • Market NCG as an IT Managed Services company for organizations in SMB market. (Examples: wear polo shirts; pass out business cards, word-of-mouth, etc.)
    • Attend training sessions to further understand the market and technology trends.
    • Attend weekly company meetings.
    • Provide clients with recommendations on upgrades to improve business processes.
