Joe Chappell

Desktop Support Engineer

Service issues and Technical Support I started working with computers in 2002 while I was in the military. My interest was simple starting out, I worked on Excel spreadsheets to Access databases. I advanced from making an Ethernet cable to wiring whole buildings. I have a wide range of experience with different technology ranging from Audio/Visual, Security, Access Control, Structure Cabling, to working on different commercial networks. I really like working in IT because of the instant gratification you get when you help a client that has a problem and I am able to fix that problem.

Every issue I work on is another adventure I get to go on and see where it takes me. I live in Vinton with my wife Sarah, two foster kids, and two cats. In my spare time, I like to. Wait, do I have spare time? I spend as much time as possible with my wife and two very special kids. When I do have time to myself I am usually on a news website or tech related website. I love how technology is rapidly changing before our eyes, things that use to be impossible are becoming possible. I am excited to be in a field that is able to utilize and adapt to the change.

Mason Walker

Network and Security Engineer

Contact Mason for: Technical Support and Network/Information Security Mason’s parents will tell you he’s been glued to a computer ever since they brought the first one home when he was 6 years old. Fascinated by the inner workings of the computers he spent so much time on, Mason continued to study them until arriving at NCG in 2009. From his first day at NCG, Mason loved to solve weird problems and clear up strange computer behavior. These days his specialty is network and information security; he uses NCG’s arsenal of layered security tools to ensure no evildoers can access your private information. In his free time, Mason likes working on his house, taking his dogs to the park, playing video games and collecting records. Mason lives in Roanoke with his wife Julia and their small army of animals: 2 dogs, 4 inside cats and 1 porch cat (she came with the house, but we love her).
